It is not acceptable to turn a blind eye and keep "business as usual" while a million people in China have been subject to constant surveillance, brainwashing, brutal detention, and cultural destruction. We call on you to leverage your political and economic power, including targeted sanctions and divestment, at the UN and in all corridors of power to compel the Chinese government to respect the human rights and freedoms guaranteed to Uyghurs under international law. This is a matter of conscience for all of us.
