Housing Minister Steve Reed: put people before tech!

To the Secretary of State for Housing, Steve Reed:

We the British people demand that you put homes before profit and approve Tower Hamlet Council’s plans to build new homes at Truman Brewery, Brick Lane. Historic buildings in the heart of London should be used to house people, not machines!

Housing Minister Steve Reed: put people before tech!
Right now, there are 8.5 million people in England who can’t access the housing they need. That includes two million children.

Labour promised 1.5 million new social homes. But since taking office, they have prioritised tech development on several occasions.

And they might do it again in Brick Lane, London.

But the community is fighting back. And if we stand with them and win, 300 new social housing units, could be built in the heart of East London, as per the council’s alternative proposal.

So far, the local council and this community are standing alone against Big Tech money. But if we get behind them, we can pressure Steve Reed - who is deciding what will happen to this disputed plot - into making a decision that could set a precedent for the whole country.
