Uyghur lives matter – no illegal deportation

To Prime Minister Shinawatra, and Thailand’s immigration authorities :

Don’t sacrifice Uyghur lives for a cosy relationship with Beijing! We urge you to honour Thailand’s obligations under international law and immediately stop any plans to illegally deport Uyghur refugees to China where they could face imprisonment, torture - even death.

Uyghur lives matter – no illegal deportation
They escaped persecution, torture, rape and indoctrination in China – now Thailand wants to send dozens of Uyghur refugees back, in time to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations with Beijing.

Gambling with the lives of these men isn’t just immoral, it’s illegal under international law. But unless Thai officials feel a massive spotlight on their dodgy deal, they’ll push ahead…so that’s where we come in!

Against all odds, the men managed to send an urgent SOS from their jail cell. Lawyers and other organisations are rallying, and massive public pressure from Avaazers in Thailand and around the world, can make this into a PR nightmare not worth it for Thai officials. We have to be fast though – sign now and share widely.
