Welcome back Canada
For a decade, Canada has been one of the world’s biggest climate blockers -- lobbying to get dirty tar sands oil into Europe, pulling out of international agreements, and refusing to sign new ones. But just last night, Canada won a new leader who can become the climate champion we need.

Canada is crucial to the upcoming climate summit in Paris, just weeks from now. It’s a major polluter and one of the richest countries in the world. It’s also sitting on the most deadly source of carbon pollution -- the tar sands of Alberta -- but incredible renewable energy resources, too. Turning Canada on to 100% clean energy could be a game-changer for Paris.

So, welcome back Canada. As he gets ready for his first day in office, let’s send a message of welcome and inspiration to new Prime Minister Trudeau -- make sure he knows that for his first act, we’ll need him to help us save the world.
