Whales are among the most intelligent and majestic creatures on Earth. They’re vital for the health of our oceans.

Yet shipping and whaling companies kill thousands every year, with no consequences at all – because humans have never cared enough to protect whales.

That’s all about to change.

A group of activists headed by Indigenous leaders is working with Pacific Island governments to pass a law that will grant whales legal personhood for the first time in history.

Backing that up is a huge global investment fund aimed at saving our oceans and a regional treaty that requires countries to pass the personhood law if they want to benefit from the fund.

They’ll launch this game-changing campaign on June 8th at the UN Oceans Conference in France. To succeed, they need to get more countries to join their groundbreaking initiative.
