Essential medicines are out of reach for millions of Canadians, but a new expert study  shows that we’d save billions with a universal pharmacare program giving everyone access to the drugs they need.

The experts say that with a national plan involving buying in bulk, using cheaper versions of drugs and better prescribing, we could save $7.3 billion or more each year. Health Minister Rona Ambrose won’t say if she’d support this initiative, but Parliament breaks for Easter in just a few weeks and we need to make sure she hears from us before parliament's holiday.

A next election is just months away and most Canadians want a new system that will bring affordable drugs to all of us. If Ambrose champions this now, she could see a huge spike in popularity before we go to the polls. Click and help build a petition of 50,000 signers, and we’ll place advertisements at Edmonton Airport -- to welcome Ms Ambrose home for Easter.
