It sounds like an episode of American Horror Story, except it's our tax dollars funding brutal animal research.

A female cow locked into a head brace and mounted by up to six bulls, until both of her legs were broken and her body was “torn up.” Pigs bred so large they produce twice the amount of piglets than normal, and end up crushing their offspring to death.

All of this is and more happening at an obscure federally funded research complex on the plains of Nebraska, the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center.
