Stop China's brutal crackdown
To US President Barack Obama:
During Chinese President Xi Jinping’s first US State Visit in September, we urge you to publicly call for an independent investigation into the death Tibetan Buddhist monk Tenzin Delek Rinpoche in Chinese custody. We also call on you to strongly condemn the Chinese government for enforcing repressive measures in Tibet and across China that have led to unjust detentions and widespread human rights violations.

It’s just the latest tragic example of an unprecedented offensive against civil society in China and Tibet -- but there’s a way to stop the violence.
China’s human rights record has worsened since President Xi Jinping came to power but because of the country’s rising economic importance, it’s been largely unchallenged by the international community. Now Xi’s high-profile state visit to the US is just weeks away, and we can seize the opportunity to make sure China is held accountable: if millions of us call on President Obama we can make sure he puts human rights at the top of the agenda.
Help stop China’s brutal crackdown now. When we reach one million signers we will deliver the petition to the White House with Tibetans and Chinese human rights campaigners and place an ad in the Washington D.C media during Xi’s visit. Sign the petition and share with everyone.
