Protect the ancient forest!
To World Heritage Committee delegates:
We call on you to reject the Australian proposal to delist 74,000 hectares of the Tasmanian Wilderness Area from World Heritage status. These forests are ancient, irreplaceable and have been deemed to have outstanding universal value. Delisting this forest would set a dangerous precedent for World Heritage listed areas all over the world.

A few World Heritage Committee members hold this irreplaceable forest’s future in their hands. They are sent their by our governments, but usually get little public attention. So if enough of us shine a spotlight on this decision and urge them to stand firm for the forest, we can get them to keep Tasmania’s tall trees standing, and stop other countries queuing up to trash their heritage.
Nine out of ten of Australians say they oppose the de-listing. Let's get behind them to ensure Heritage Committee representatives do their duty to protect these natural treasures. Sign the petition -- when 1 million people have signed we’ll take out a full page ad in a major international newspaper, and make sure all the delegates see it.
